I s'pose this is another example of how four years in England permanently altered our vocabulary (and in some cases pronunciation). We still say loo, petrol, rubbish, bin, and apparently also winch. And "You say tomato, I say tom-ah-to ..." 🎶
I chuckled my way through this post but not without a good little empathy. At least you had the sense to create a sanctuary where you could retreat away from the home renowrecktions, surrounded by a soothing F&B green. Things look like they are coming along just fine, a wince at the wench notwithstanding.
Thanks Tui! That sanctuary was a priority; in fact, Chris arrived here and started painting while I was supervising the movers at our old place! And yes, things are coming along, even if it does sometimes feel like a bit of a juggling act.

We say "rubbish" and "bin" in our house too---they just sound so much better than "garbage" and "Trashcan".
